As project lead manages and supports all functional tasks supporting project deliverables. Including management of multiple project timelines, deliverables, and support associates. As a Senior programmer, the position may include a supervisory role in support of a management track or technical expert role in support of a senior technical expert. Assists in the development and refinement of existing processes. Interacts with customers as needed to support projects and applications externally. Primary development tools include Oracle Clinical, Phase Forward Inform, SAS , PL/SQL, Project Tracking, Oracle Discoverer, Microsoft Reporting Services (Visual Studio), Oracle Reports 9i, CRF WorkManager and internal applications such as QualityTrend and ProjectTrend.
1. Designs, writes, validates, and maintains software to meet specifications in a timely and productive manner following standard development procedures. Generates and maintains all required documentation. This includes the development of specifications, coding, and validation efforts in support of annotated CRFs, Database creation, coding setup and administration, editcheck procedures, import setup and processing, export setup and processing, listings and profile reporting.
2. As a senior member of the programming department, provide senior review of outgoing deliverables and creation or review of setup specifications. Mentorship to support team members in GCP, SOP, WI, and departmental processes.
3. Interacts with client, peers, lead programmer, project team and/or requestor to clarify and finalize specifications. Continually gains experience and expands technical skills to meet evolving project needs.
4. Interacts and serves on project teams. Coordinates and leads development activities for projects. Accepts unique and new assignments, works independently and completes work on time. Attends meetings, participates in discussions, uses an analytical approach to problem solving, focuses on deliverables, and provides constructive criticism. Keeps those responsible for project management informed of any issues that might impact project target dates, scope or budget and escalates potential problems effectively and in a timely manner. Balances multiple task assignments and communicates needs to supervisor to obtain needed resources.
5. Builds positive departmental and inter-departmental relationships. Provides leadership, training, guidance and support to other department members.
6. Processes and maintains a broad overall knowledge in the field of clinical programming and clinical data management by reading related literature, self-training, attending training classes, attending professional meetings, etc. |

Skills:
|
Requires a BS/BA degree in Computer Science or closely related discipline, or equivalent related experience, and 4 years of experience programming in Oracle Clinical and proficiency in data retrieval language, e.g. SQL and SAS. Extensive experience in clinical data management and clinical programming is required. Proficiency in an SQL-based reporting tool such as Oracle Reports required. Familiarity with Oracle Clinical, medical terminology, clinical data and Good Clinical Practices is necessary. Ability to handle multiple tasks to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment is essential. Requires strong organizational, presentation, documentation and interpersonal skills as well as a team-oriented approach. |
